SRF vacancy under Rapid Grant for Young Investigators scheme at MKU

Madurai Kamaraj University, is on its relentless journey for the past 48 years surmounting hurdles of indigenous and exotic nature on its way and has passed through the tests of accreditation towards reaching the status of excellence. University is aware that the process of achieving excellence is continuous and therefore, all efforts are in progress to keep up the momentum.The Madurai Kamaraj University offers 41 post graduate, 35 M.Phil. and 17 Diploma / P.G. Diploma / Certificate courses in the various departments. Presently, 66 U.G. and 45 P.G. courses are offered in the affiliated Colleges
Applications are invited from interested candidates for the post of one Senior Research Fellow on a purely temporary basis in a time bound research project (3 years) sponsored by Department of Bio-Technology (DBT-RGYI), Government of India, New Delhi under Rapid Grant for Young Investigators scheme.
  • Name of the fellowship : Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)
  • Title of the project : Biophysical Investigation on the Folding and Aggregation of HomoAsparagine Peptide Repeats in Plasmodium falciparum Proteome
  • Duration : 3 years (from October 2013)
  • Fellowship : Rs18,000 + 20% HRA for first 2 years and Rs20,000 + 20% HRA for 3rd year
  • Qualifications : M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Biophysics/ Biotechnology / Life Sciences and
  • Experience : Minimum of two years research experience in any of the following area.Peptide and/or Organic synthesis / Modern purification methods / Protein chemistry / Biophysical characterization / Bioinformatics / Computational chemistry
